The Saskatchewan Soccer Association (SSA) recently announced information regarding the 2021 Provincial Soccer League (PSL).
Saskatoon Youth Soccer Inc. (SYSI) will be forming city wide PSL teams for under-15 (players born 2006 and 2007) and under-17 (players born 2004 and 2005) age groups under the banner of the Saskatoon Alliance.
For complete information, including tryout dates, registration deadlines, fees, proposed schedules and more, follow the link here.
In the under-13 division, each individual club has the ability to enter its own team into PSL. According to SSA, a U13 division will be offered so long as a minimum number of teams declare interest. While a decision has not been made, Eastside is gauging interest within the club about entering. Any questions or conversation can be directed to technical director Mike Gramiak at email@example.com.
Full games are back and our Eastside squads have returned to game action.
The complete listing of schedules can be found here at the SYSI website. As well, make sure you're signed in through Team RAMP.
We were incredibly excited on May 25 when the province announced plans to include outdoor sports in Step 1 of its re-opening plan. That means that rather than waiting until June 20 and Step 2, full practices and/or games can begin as of May 30.
We know that while our players and coaches have done their best to stay positive and upbeat during this historic COVID-19 pandemic, training in groups of eight and without any kind of traditional game experience has been taxing at times. We also know the collective feeling is now: game action and full practices can't come soon enough.
As soon as the announcement came, there were meetings scheduled on top of phone calls on top of Zooms on top of texts, as SYSI and the zones, the TDs and the presidents and club boards, started discussing how quickly schedules, divisions and teams can be created and implemented. Once we have more information as a club about what the upcoming days and weeks will look like, we will share it with our membership.
Eastside is immensely proud to announce its successful application for Club Licensing PTSO (Provincial/Territorial Youth Club) — Level 2, becoming one of only four members in all of Saskatchewan to achieve Member Association Level 2.
"This is very exciting news for the Eastside family," technical director Mike Gramiak said.
