COMMITMENT EXPECTATIONS
As part of EYSA’s aim to provide the best environment for the athlete, it is important that each member of the team understands and values the commitment expectations associated with the team.
A common understanding of commitment is essential to ensuring a healthy team environment, and is a key component of the Eastside philosophy. The variance in Eastside’s programming is intended to offer a program that is accessible to all, and can meet their commitment desires.
In general, the following is a breakdown of the number of events per week:
Targeted number of interactions per week
# of Games | # of Practices
Alliance A | 1 | 2 |
Alliance B | 1 | 2 |
City | 1 | 1 Optional Small Sided Games Session |
Athletes and families are expected to make as many events as possible. If they are unable to attend practice or games, they must notify team personnel as early as possible. This will help the team personnel make any necessary adjustments for the event in question.
PLAYING TIME
EYSA is committed to providing equal playing time to athletes. Playing time, however, is influenced by commitment and attendance. A player’s playing time will be adjusted accordingly. If commitment and attendance are ongoing issues, the matter will be discussed with families to review expectations.
Commitment is monitored throughout the year for identifying players for permit opportunities and forming future rosters.
SCHEDULING WITH NON-EASTSIDE EVENTS
EYSA supports multi-sport athletes, and is willing to accomodate where possible. If events overlap with another sport, EYSA is open to establishing a reasonable scheduling plan to balance commitment to the other sports.
Players selected to Eastside’s Alliance League A teams are expected to prioritize their Eastside commitments over non-SYS academy commitments should a scheduling conflict arise.
